Taylor Wily, who played Kamekona on 'Hawaii Five-0,' dies at 57
Wily, a former sumo wrestler and UFC fighter, also appeared in 'Magnum P.I.'
Taylor Wily, the actor best known for his role as Kamekona on the CBS crime drama "Hawaii Five-0," has died. He was 57.
Wily's death was confirmed by his agent, Lisa Jacobson, who said he died on June 20 in Honolulu. No cause of death was given.
Wily was born in Hawaii and began his career as a sumo wrestler. He later transitioned to mixed martial arts, fighting in the UFC and other promotions. After retiring from fighting, Wily began acting and landed his breakout role as Kamekona in "Hawaii Five-0."
Wily also appeared in the "Magnum P.I." reboot and the film "Moana." He was known for his infectious laugh and warm personality.
Wily is survived by his wife, Amy, and two children.
